Kya's Swine Flu Update - Day 4

Kya is doing ok. She is stable and relaxed, although all the drugs may have something to do with it??? She pretty much hasn't made much change either direction so when the Docs came in today they said that they were hoping to see a greater improvement by now. They will be forced to intubate soon if she does not turn the corner because she'll be too tired to keep breathing on her own. We saw some decent improvement in her CO2 count, but a change in her PH so it is still sitting on a double edged sword around here... welcome to my life. We wait and we wonder what will happen. Does she change for the better or the worse? Who knows???

On a lighter note, we were able to have Jonathan go home this morning and spend some time with the boys. They went costume material shopping without much success (who wants to pay $70 for a gas mask!!!) they went to Costco for lunch, they also stocked up on the much needed day-old bread for the chickens and I got report of Nathaniel eating a whole tray of Bear Claws??? Teenagers, go figure!

Nathaniel got ready and headed off to the church Halloween dance (he settled on being a Door-to-Door salesman or a Jehovah Witness??.. I just know it involved a suit and a briefcase!) and Jonathan and Ian came back to Spokane so I could see Ian. We took him to the Garland for the really cheap movies (only $3.50!) and saw G.I. Joe. It was pretty good, if your a fan of the cartoon series, but probably did not do much for people who were not familiar with it before. At least it had a ton of action so you were not bored with the crappy storyline.

This is the update for now, I'll let you know what tomorrow brings.
